Flashcards don't have to be boring. One of the games we like to play is giant Tic-Tac-Toe. However, the game can be used not only with flashcards but with some grammar or drama tasks.
To prepare the game you will need:
- Flashcards (or pieces of paper with tasks)
- Paper plate
- Black marker
- Painter's tape or 4 pieces of rope
First, draw crosses and noughts on the plates. Then, prepare the tic-tac-toe board on the floor using the tape or rope. Put the flashcards face down on each space. Divide students into two groups and give them the plates. Students take turn and turn over the flashcards. If they manage to name the picture they can put they plate on the flashcards, if not they lose their turn. The team which succeeds in placing three of their marks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row wins the game.
